An English forum at last for AntiVir/PE (Thank You).
O.K. here goes. I have been a user of AntiVir/PE on and off for some time now, and my big knock has, and still is the method by which to obtain AntiVir/PE and the method to maintain it, in my humble opinion they are abysmal. Is there any plans to change the Internet Updater? Also are the mod’s on this forum in contact with H+BEDV, and do they have any authority to change anything about AntiVir/PE?

As to changing the update problem - it is on the board to eventually change the VDF update to an incremental update.
As to someone here being in contact - yes, I am, but only through the German AVPE forum. The only people who can change AVPE are the people at H&BEDV - sorry.
When the servers get clogged up during the big program updates you can download the all-in-one from here in the DL section.

Once again the update capabilities for AntiVir/PE indicates just how lousy it is. Today 7 Dec 04, I attempted to maintain my copy of AntiVir/PE, and of course found out it was necessary to install the entire new program (a pain in the butt) . O.K., all instructions have been to wait for a time when the servers will not be to busy in Europe (another pain in the butt), hey I figure 10:00 P.M. in Germany should be o.k. (wrong), the site was down. When I finally did make contact (an hour later), the download speed was atrocious, it took me over one and a half hours to download a 4.5MB file. No I will not be providing information about my machine etc., this should not be the case under any circumstances.
Now I would not be so pissed off if this was a once in a while thing with AntiVir/PE, but that is not the case this is the norm.
Once and for all. Exactly when does H+BEDV plan to properly fix this situation and just not patch the servers?

We have been told for almost three years now that H+BEDV intends to fix this problem.

As to the long wait to DL on 7 DEC - a new version of the program is available, 6.29. When everyone attempts to DL at the same time the servers will be slow. The servers get too many requests to handle at one time.
As of 1:24 am German time, the new all-in-one is available here at CCSP.
I will be getting in contact with H&BEDV to check into the options available for the English version problems later today.
So what was the results?
Also would it be possible to indicate what version is available from the DL area of this forum?

Jacko, is not the home office, in fact he has no authority what so ever to change anything with AntiVir/PE. Once again I get the feeling that smoke is trying to be blowed. I am sure that I and others would like to see a genuine answer to this long on going problem, and from some one who has the authority to do some thing about it.

The only support for AVPE is through the BB. I was on the phone for 20 minutes and was finally figure out that it would be faster to get an answer over the BB as the front office is not allowed to give out technician/developer telephone extensions.
I am still waiting to hear from Salomon or Kurtzhals at that board. Also please avoid getting jacko mad over there as he does pass on info. It just takes time for the others to get to it.
hello mrrockford: I doubt if you will hear from Salomon or Kutzhals. I have been hearing Jacko and Who Cares spout the H+BEDV line for a long time now. What make me mad is they never (unless forced to do so) tell you that they have no authority to change a thing on AntiVir/PE. I can not remember the last time anyone from H+BEDV made any post in the English section of that board. So if I upset Jacko or Who Cares, I don’t care, people have a false sense of what that board can and can not accomplish.

Just as I expected. If you do hear from anyone in authority at H+BEDV, I will be shocked. AntiVir/PE appears to be a fair product, however the company behind the product leaves one with quiet a few doubts. I have once again changed to another virus protection program, and would suggest others do like wise.
